§ 3-4-323. Truck routes established.

  • There are hereby established within the unincorporated limits of the county the following truck routes:

    (1)

    Outside origin; outside destination: All trucks entering the county for destination points outside the county shall be operated only over the following designated routes:

    a.

    Expressways/limited access highways:

    1.

    U.S. Interstate I-75.

    2.

    U.S. Interstate 19/41.

    3.

    U.S. I-675.

    b.

    State highways:

    1.

    Georgia Highway 155.

    2.

    Georgia Highway 42 (U.S. 23).

    3.

    Georgia Highway 138.

    4.

    Georgia Highway 81.

    5.

    Georgia Highway 20.

    c.

    County roads:

    1.

    Hudson Bridge Road, between Jodeco Road and Highway 42.

    2.

    Quarry Road, between Hudson Bridge Road and Highway 42.

    3.

    Industrial Boulevard, east of I-75 between Highway 20 and Highway 155.

    4.

    Industrial Parkway, west of I-75, between Highway 155 and Highway 20.

    5.

    Racetrack Road, between Highway 81 east and Highway 42.

    6.

    East Noah's Ark Road, between Jodeco Road and the Clayton County line, but only if the truck utilizing said route is moving a house pursuant to a conditional use permit issued in conformity with Chapter 3-7 of this Code. All other truck traffic on said road is prohibited.

    7.

    Old Dixie Highway (Old State Highway 3), between Clayton County line and Spalding County line.

    8.

    Jodeco Road, between Highway 42 and Clayton County line.

    9.

    McDonough By-pass (Cedar Street extension).

    (2)

    Outside or inside origin; inside destination:

    a.

    One inside destination point. All trucks entering or in the county for a destination point in the county shall proceed over an established truck route and shall deviate only at the intersection with the street nearest to the destination point. Upon leaving the destination point, a deviating truck shall return to the truck route by the shortest possible route.

    b.

    Multiple inside destination points. All trucks entering the county for multiple destination points shall proceed only over established truck routes and shall deviate only at the intersection with the street nearest to the first destination point. Upon leaving the first destination point, a deviating truck shall proceed to other destination points by the shortest direction. Upon leaving the last destination point, a deviating truck shall return to the truck route by the shortest permissible route.

    (3)

    Inside origin; outside destination: All trucks on a trip originating in the county, and travelling in the county for a destination point outside the county, shall proceed by the most direct route in the direction of its destination to the nearest truck route.
