Latest version.
  • The intent and purpose of this article is to create a zoning district to be known as The Towaliga Watershed Protection District, which such area has a unique environmental importance to the county. This article is intended to maintain the current high water quality of the surface water (rivers, creeks, streams and springs) and underground water of the Towaliga River Basin and to preserve and ensure the same continuing high water quality of said basin for the future. The zoning for this district is intended to provide for certain permitted uses as hereinafter provided and to protect the underground and surface water of said basin from polluting effects of more intense development and from encroachments of those uses that are not compatible with a protected watershed.
