§ 2-2-21. Same—Terms after 1976 election.

  • In the 1976 general election, candidates who are elected to Posts 1, 2 and 3 on the board shall serve for terms of office of four (4) years and until their successors are duly elected and qualified. Candidates who are elected to Posts 4 and 5 on the board in said election shall serve for terms of office of two (2) years and until their successors are duly elected and qualified. Thereafter, all successors to members of the board of commissioners shall be elected for terms of office of four (4) years and until their successors are duly elected and qualified.

Ga. Laws 1980, P. 3009, Act No. 679 repealed the above section. Such repealer was subject to approval at referendum and failed to receive such approval.
