§ 2-2-22. Same—Oath and bond.

  • Before entering upon the discharge of their duties, the chairman, and other members of the board shall subscribe an oath before the Ordinary [Judge of the Probate Court] of Henry County for the true and faithful performance of their duties and that they are not the holders of any unaccounted for public funds. Their chairman shall give a satisfactory surety bond to be approved by the Ordinary [Judge of the Probate Court] of Henry Conty, payable to the Ordinary [Judge of the Probate Court] or his successor in office and filed in the office of the Ordinary [Judge of the Probate Court], in the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00), conditioned upon the faithful performance of the duties of his office. In addition, each of the other members of the board shall give a satisfactory surety bond to be approved by the Ordinary [Judge of the Probate Court] of Henry County, payable to the Ordinary [Judge of the Probate Court] or his successor in office and filed in the office of the Ordinary [Judge of the Probate Court], in the sum of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00), conditioned upon the faithful performance of the duties of their respective offices. The premiums for said bonds shall be paid out of the county treasury.
