§ 2-2-23. Compensation and allowances.

The chairman of the board shall receive an annual salary in an amount equal to forty (40) percent of the annual salary provided by general law for the sheriff of Henry County. The vice-chairman of the board shall receive an annual salary in an amount equal to thirty-five (35) percent of the annual salary now or hereafter provided by general law for the sheriff of Henry County. The other members of the board shall receive an annual salary equal to thirty (30) percent of the annual salary now or hereafter provided by general law for the sheriff of Henry County. Said salaries shall be payable in equal monthly installments out of the general funds of Henry County. The chairman and each other member of the board shall also receive an expense allowance for in-county travel, of two thousand four hundred dollars ($2,400.00) per annum, payable in equal monthly installments out of the funds of Henry County.

Editor's note

Sec. 1 of House Bill 554 states: "The chairperson of the board of commissioners shall receive an annual salary in the amount of $45,000.00. Each district commissioner shall receive an annual salary in the amount of $35,000.00. Such salaries shall be paid in equal monthly installments out of the general funds of Henry County. The chairperson and each district commissioner shall also receive an expense allowance for in-county travel of $2,400.00 per annum, payable in equal monthly installments out of the funds of Henry County." Sec. 3 of said House Bill states: "Section 1 of this Act shall become effective on January 1, 2017."
