§ 3-5-107. Other disposal methods.

  • Owners of record of all single residential units, condominiums, or multiple residential units not serviced by commercial container shall obtain service for each such unit from county-approved licensee, unless such owner disposes of solid waste by self-hauling of solid waste to a state-approved landfill. Failure to provide evidence of proper disposal upon request by county officials (receipts, canceled checks, etc.) shall be a violation of this article, punishable as set forth in section 3-5-113. No solid waste may be disposed of by any person in an open dump or may any person cause, suffer, allow or permit open dumping on his/her property. All disposal and burial of trash must comply with Georgia State Law "Rules for Solid Waste Management" Chapter 391-3-4. Contractors, builders, developers and others in the construction business shall be required to comply with this Code section, except as noted in Code section 3-5-109(c).
